Six excellent candidates applied for the opening on the Central Committee resulting from the resignation of Ronnie Weems in late 2008.

At its February 19th regular bi-monthly meeting, The Central Committee selected Ron Milligan to serve out the remaining approximately 16 months of the current term.

Chairman Chris Reynolds stated, "In selecting Ron, we were blessed with five other very strong candidates whose skills, backgrounds and aspirations for the success of the Democratic Party in the county.  The choice was a difficult one to make but I am hopeful that we can put the talents of Alonzo Barber, Sandra Holler, Warren La Heist, Kathleen Notaro and Karen Zusa to good use in the many Democratic Party projects and activities we have planned in the days ahead.  We sincerely appreciate the time and efforts all the candidates put forward to help us return to full strength."
