Central Committee Monthly Meeting Highlights

Posted 22 September 2017CCDCC

The Calvert County Democratic Central Committee was sad to receive the resignation of Harriet Gossett at this month’s meeting. Her work on the Central Committee has been invaluable and we’re certain that her commitment in her new capacity serving Calvert County will be unmatched.

In other changes during the September meeting, Monica Silbas was unanimously elected to the office of Parliamentarian. We are so pleased to have her guidance through this office and look forward to utilizing her knowledge and experience going forward.

The Central Committee has secured a presence in two upcoming community events. We will be participating in the Patuxent River Appreciation Day Parade on Sunday October 8th. If you would like to walk the parade with us, bring your walking shoes to the parade start by 1pm. We will also need volunteers to help decorate our entry float. Contact us for more information about volunteering.

Also, on October 28th the CCDCC will have a station at the Halloween in the Garden event at Annmarie Gardens. This is a wonderful opportunity to interact with other Calvert County residents and get our message (and our bumper stickers!) out in the County. Of course, we will need volunteers for this event as well, so Contact us for more information about volunteering. We will also need candy for trick-or-treaters, so please consider bringing candy donations to either the Democratic Club meeting, the Women’s Club meeting, or to the office. Thanks for supporting your local Democratic Party!
