The Club was joined by Keep Calvert Country, an offshoot of the Smart Growth Coalition, to discuss the proposed changes to the Comprehensive Plan. Miriam Gholl, who has over 30 years of experience in Calvert's Planning & Zoning Department, shared the group's many concerns and led a lively discussion. If this is an issue that matters to you, make your voice heard and submit comments to Planning & Zoning by December 8th either via email (email@example.com) or in writing (mail to: 175 Main Street, Prince Frederick, MD 20678). You can find more information about these groups here and here.
The Club also discussed upcoming phone banking training in December, with the goal of starting phone banking and canvassing in January. We'll be talking to registered Democrats who haven't voted in recent elections, listening to the issues that matter to them, and encouraging them to vote in 2018! If you're interested in helping, Sign up to learn more about phone banking/canvassing.
Please join Calvert's Democratic Central Committee, Women's Club, Riverside Club, and Democratic Club for a Holiday Party at Adam's Rib's on Thursday, December 14th from 6-9 p.m. Hors d'oeuvres will be served (including plenty of Adam's crab dip!). We encourage you to bring friends and family, especially those who haven't joined us at previous events. There's no better time to get involved as campaigns and other efforts start ramping up for 2018 elections.
We'll be collecting for Toys for Tots at this event, so please bring new, unwrapped gifts to help make the holidays special for some local kids.
Please RSVP to CCDemOffice@gmail.com by December 8th if you plan on attending!
Note: There will be no Democratic Club meeting in December. Regular Club meetings will resume in January, with our next meeting on Tuesday, January 23rd.
