The Calvert Democratic Club is reaching out to registered Democrats who voted in 2016 but not in 2014 to see what issues matter to them and encourage them to come out for this year's mid-term elections. We've had two sessions so far at the Central Committee office in Prince Frederick and both have gotten a great response. If you've never made calls before, don't be afraid to give it a try. We know it can seem intimidating, but it's also rewarding to talk to fellow Democrats who are fired up about what's going on locally and nationally. Several volunteers at this week's Club meeting talked about their experiences at the last two sessions, and all of them said it was easier than they thought and that any nervousness faded away pretty quickly. And remember that you won't be making calls alone, and that someone will be there to walk you through any issues. A new volunteer can get trained on the system and ready to make calls in about 10 minutes. There are a lot of Democrats who didn't vote in 2014 that we need to get in touch with, so even if you can only sign up for one session a month, or can only make it for an hour, please consider pitching in.
The Club will be hosting two sessions a week - Sundays from 12-2pm and Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm. You can sign up for an upcoming session here.
