The Democratic Women's Club hosted a booth at the Calvert Green Expo to discuss sustainability and environmental policy with Calvert voters! They handed out re-usable grocery bags, water bottles, drawstring backpacks, and napkins made from plastics. Children were thoroughly entertained by decorating and wearing their donkey ears. We are so grateful to Harriet Gossett and Mary Ellen Gibson for their hard work preparing this craft for the kids and staffing the tent!

Fair-goers showed strong interest in local Democratic candidates and we were lucky tCCDWC Green Expo Bootho have candidates Holly Budd, Matt Bennett, Jeanette Flaim, and Helenmary Ball on hand to talk to everyone who came by! There was also plenty of campaign literature from our candidates available for interested voters, and the candidate summary packet made up by the Democratic Club. The Women’s Club would like to specifically thank all the other wonderful volunteers: Cindy Peil, Linda Copeland, and Jackie Niles.

Don’t miss out on the fun – we’re still looking for a whole slate of volunteers for the Dragon Boat Races at the North Beach Boardwalk on June 9th from 7:30am to 3:30pm. If you can volunteer, please sign up here or contact Jeanette Flaim by email or text 301-938-2902. Also, be sure to check out our next booth at the NAACP Community Day in Jefferson Patterson Park on  June 16th from 11am to 5pm.  We also need volunteers to staff this booth. If you can spare a couple extra hours, please contact Hagner Mister by email or call 410-474-5269.
