August 9th Deadline to Apply:
The Calvert County Democratic Central Committee seeks one woman, registered Democrat and residing within Calvert County, to fill the gender-balancing seat on the Committee. The CCDCC by-laws, in co-ordination with the Maryland State Party by-laws, require that the Committee consist of equal numbers, male and female, as members of the Committee. The voters of Calvert have elected four women and five men to the Central Committee.
Committee Members serve a four-year term working to promote Democratic values throughout the County and State. Members, whenever possible, are expected to engage in: monthly Committee meetings, Party activities and events, Democratic campaign support, and various community events. Other Member responsibilities consist of steering the local Democratic Party in accordance with Party principles.
“We have a great team here with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, and we’re going to do a lot of good,” states newly-elected Chair, David Salazar, at the first of the 2018-2022 Calvert County Democratic Central Committee. The Calvert County Democratic Central Committee is currently accepting applications for Associate Members. Associate Members are very similar to elected members, with only a few exceptions.
