The Calvert County Democratic Women’s Club was at Jefferson Patterson Park to participate in the 22nd annual African American Family Community Day hosted by the Calvert County NAACP. The event included a bike raffle, door prizes, vendors with food and merchandise, walking the grounds of the park, and a tour of Sukeek’s Cabin. The highlight of the day was the Talent show, where contestant after contestant came up and showed their skills.
The Democratic Women’s Club manned a booth in the fairground. We had a lot of opportunity to talk to fair-goers about our club, what we stand for, and what we do. We also had crafts for the younger attendees. Despite the rain towards the end of the day, everyone had a good time. We thank the NAACP for hosting such an entertaining event. As promised, there was plenty of food, fun, and fellowship.
