The Calvert County Democratic Women’s Club hosted their annual auction this week in support of the scholarship fund. Each year the Women’s Club distributes four scholarships, one to a qualifying senior from each of Calvert County’s four high schools. The Annual Auction is the largest fundraiser the Women’s Club hosts for this great cause.

On Tuesday, Calvert Democrats came out to Adam’s Taphouse in Prince Frederick to laugh, eat, drink, and BID on baskets created and donated by Women’s Club members. Each basket or container held a selection of items along a common theme. The event was well attended and a big success for the scholarship fund! You can see many more photos here. The Women’s Club would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to all the participants and contributors of the event for making it such a fun evening.

Canvassing, Phone Banking Training

Join the Calvert County Democratic Central Committee on Saturday September 16th from 11am to 12:30 pm at the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department for a training session for canvassing and phone banking. As 2018 approaches, the CCDCC needs to reach out to every potential voter in Calvert County in order to ensure effective turn out to the polls, and we NEED YOUR HELP. There are a so many doors to knock on and so many phone calls to make, we need as many volunteers as possible to GET OUT THE VOTE in 2018.

If you have just a few hours a week to contribute to this necessary campaign, please come to this training session. Knocking on doors and making phone calls is a skill easily learned. Mr. Saif Ratul, State Field Director for Maryland Democratic Party, will be offering advice and exercises on talents and techniques to make your canvassing a success! To drive the vote in 2018 we need to start now, and we need you to do it. Come out to the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday September 16th from 11am to 12:30 pm.
