Get Ready for 2018

The election cycle this year is extremely important and very exciting. Calvert County has some great candidates for local office already filed and running, and we’re still looking for more. Democrats in Calvert County are in a position to retrieve the governorship, further solidify democratic control of the state legislature, and Turn Calvert Blue! But we need your help. Here’s how you can be part of the movement:

CCDCCConsider running for office. There are many local-level offices that need democrats to file their candidacy. The CCDCC has several tools for first-time candidates to help them get their campaigns off the ground. Also, the state Democratic Party and many other organizations. Get in touch with us today if you’re considering a run for a local seat.

CCDCCVolunteer on a campaign. Want to Turn Calvert Blue, but can’t run for office yourself? There are lots of great candidates already running who need support and resources. Get in touch with us, or contact them directly to find out how you can help.

Help get out the vote! There are lots of Democrats in Calvert County, but we need them to get to the polls! Consider volunteering as a precinct captain, or precinct volunteer to connect with your neighbors and get them to turn out to the polls. We’ll be setting up a poll-driver network shortly, so watch for information on how you can volunteer to be a driver on Election Day. If you are ready to help Turn Calvert Blue, get in touch with us right away!

CCDCCDonate. We understand that not everyone has time to contribute to a campaign, cause, or office. So if you want to help but can’t find the time, consider donating today.

After 2018 elections:

There is more to government than just elected office. The Board of County Commissioners relies on the input from citizen volunteer advisors to make decisions. If you want to influence local county government, but don't want to run for office, this is an excellent way to ensure our county reflects your values. Volunteer for a commission or board today!

Consider Giving Some of Your Time to Turning Out the Vote

Posted on 25 August 2017CCDCC

With the 2018 elections fast approaching the Central Committee is in need of volunteers to turn out the vote in Calvert County! While the CCDCC always operates with a volunteer force managing the Headquarters, running food drives, and performing various community outreach programs, election years present a great many more tasks. We need volunteers to staff information booths at community events and at polls on election days. With over 35 thousand registered Democratic or unaffiliated voters to get in touch with in the next year, the Calvert Democrats need people to begin phone-banking and door-knocking right away. If we are going to turn out a democratic election in Calvert County in 2018, we need to start canvassing now. If you can spare a few hours a week to this, please get in touch with us right away.
