ICE Out Rally

🚨 ACTION ALERT 🚨

We thank Indivisible Calvert County for organizing this event, and we are glad to share it with you! For more information about Indivisible Calvert County, please visit this link!

Sunday, January 11th, 10 to 12. Dunkirk District Park and Solomons Weis/CVS Shopping Center.

What to Expect: This is a nonviolent, lawful, daytime community vigil centered on dignity, grief, and collective care. We are gathering to mourn, to witness, and to be together as a community.

Wednesday, January 7th, an American citizen was killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This killing is part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence, impunity, and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against members of our communities.

A broad coalition of groups across the country is calling for a coordinated Ice Out For Good Weekend of Action on Saturday, January 10th and Sunday, January 11th to demand accountability, honor the life lost, and make visible the human cost of ICE’s actions.

A core principle behind all ICE Out For Good events is a commitment to nonviolent action and no civil disobedience. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

Wear black or white

Expect a quiet, respectful gathering that may include moments of silence, the reading of names of people who have been killed by ICE, and brief reflections from those gathered. Some may want to create simple visual memorials honoring lives lost.

You are welcome to participate in whatever way feels right for you.

Some people may stand quietly, others may sit, listen, create memorials, reflect, or come and go as needed. All forms of respectful presence are welcome.

This is not a rally or a spectacle. It is a space for mourning, solidarity, and moral witness.

What to Bring (Optional)

  • Plan to wear black or white.

  • Anything you need to be comfortable outdoors. Check the weather report

  • Bring signs focused on remembrance, dignity, accountability, or care.

Accessibility & Care

Participants are welcome to bring their own chair or mobility support if needed. The ground at Solomons is uneven; there are flat areas for your chairs.

Shared Expectations

This space is for those impacted by ICE violence, those grieving, and those standing in solidarity.

Indivisible’s Commitment
